Malay Mail’s coverage on Digital Free Trade Zone: “DFTZ shows government commitment for innovation” (24th Mar 2017):
“KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysian Digital Association president Serm Teck Choon said that while the MSC initiative launched in 1996 has had debatable results, the newly-launched Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ) shows the government’s commitment to continually push for technology, innovation and internet related businesses.
“In this digital era whereby e-Commerce plays an important role in our daily lives, cross-border collaboration is very important. The initiative will have a big push for cross-border businesses and trades, for example, collaboration of Malaysia’s and China’s businesses through this strategic partnership with e-Commerce giant like Alibaba and other partners, will help in many ways for businesses in both countries
“This initiative also shows government’s commitment to propel the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through Internet economy,” Serm remarked.
